Ingredients: 1/2 oz Vodka, 1/4 oz Lillet Blonde, 2 oz Gin

Preparation: Shake over ice until well chilled, then strain into a deep goblet and garnish with a thin slice of lemon peel.

Served: Straight up.

Garnish: Lemon peel

Glassware: Champagne coupe or a cocktail glass

Best enjoyed: at a cocktail bar, wearing a tuxedo or perfectly-fitted two-button Merino wool suit (it’s named after James Bond’s ill-fated love, after all).

Ingredients: 1 oz Cointreau, 1 oz Lime juice, 2 oz Tequila

Preparation: Rub the rim of the glass with a slice of lime to make the salt stick. Shake the other ingredients with ice, then carefully pour into the glass, making sure you don’t pour away any of the salt. Garnish and serve over ice.

Served: Poured over ice.

Garnish: Slice of Lime, salt on the rim.

Glassware: Margarita glass.

Best enjoyed: by a beach, wearing a deconstructed cotton or linen suit.

Served: Poured over ice.

Garnish: Celery stalk or a dill pickle spear.

Glassware: Highball glass.

Best enjoyed: the morning after a big night, with tailored chinos, an ironed shirt and dark, dark sunnies (to hide behind).
