The daytime wedding opens up a wide range of lighter fabric colours usually overlooked for a suit. We are going to run through four fabrics perfect for a daytime wedding.
Tips for constructing a lightweight and cool daytime suit
- Add two side vents at the back of the jacket
- Consider making your suit shoulders a 'natural' fit (no padding - less weight and structure equals a cooler suit)
- Keep the back lining to 1/3 or 1/4 linings (allows better ventilation in the suit)
Use fabric 13, a Super 100's light grey wool blend fabric. As one of our lighter toned grey fabrics, it is perfect to add the casual vibe needed for a daytime suit. Keep it pretty simple and well cut. Notch lapels, single breasted and slanted pockets will do.
Fabric 98 is a rich caramel coffee coloured fabric in Super 100's 100% Wool. It would create a beautiful blazer to be paired over smart navy trousers (try fabric #16). For further inspiration on Mixing Blazers and Trouser read our InSider article.
Despite bearing close resemblance to the above outfit, we simply could not go past our beautiful fabric #62. It is lighter coffee tone than fabric #98 mentioned above, however, it has a quaint yet distinctive Prince of Wales pattern running through its Super 100's Wool/Cashmere fabric. You could pair it with a crisp white shirt and navy trousers, or take the European option and pair the jacket with light beige chino's and a crisp white Oxford shirt.
Our fabric #84 is a beautiful and vibrant blue 100% linen creating a beautiful and distinctive colour and texture ideal for a sports jacket or blazer. Make it a single-breasted blazer, with notch lapels and patch pockets (side and breast pockets). Pair this blazer with some white chino's, smart brown Mantorii Oxfords and a blue shirt like The Carlos or The Riviera.
