1. What does it mean to you to be a woman in 2021?

Being a woman in 2021 means being strong, independent, creative and smart without relinquishing our right to be vulnerable and show our softer side. - Claire

For me being a woman in 2020 thankfully means an equal voice, opportunity and the ability to direct my own destiny. I know that unfortunately this is still not the case for every female around the world but I hope that this changes in my lifetime. - Maddy

It means more responsibilities, both at work and at home! - Sabrina

Being a woman in 2021 means I have the freedom to wear whatever I want, have opinions that are my own and voice them freely in society. This is a privilege that a lot of women don't have and I am extremely grateful to have the ability to hold these values in my life. - Tayler

2. Who are some women you look up to?

I look up to my mother, raising two children at such a young age, watching her work each day to provide for us, whilst continuing to live each day with a smile on her face with her infectious energy lighting up any room. - Melanie

Mrs Van Linh Thai, she is a successful Vietnamese woman, not only on her career and personal life, but also an inspiration to youngsters in Vietnam to believe in themselves and work toward their goals. - Hanna

Jane Goodall, for her work with animals - what an amazing life, Jacinda Adern, for being the leader she is, and for having a baby and running a country simultaneously and my little six year old niece Rosie, because she’s the most confident little firecracker I have ever met and I am so certain (as is she!) that she will change the world. - Maddy

3. Who or what inspires you?

My daughter April inspires me the most. I love seeing the world through her eyes which pushes me to be more creative, carefree and to enjoy and appreciate the smaller things in life. - Ashlee

Nothing fancy, but good food and my kid’s laughter. - Hannah

My grandmother whom I lost in 2019 is someone that inspires me still today. The amount of love and support she has given my family is something that will inspire me for many years to come. I hope I can be the same inspiration to my family one day. - Sedina

I love the team that I work with, not only my colleagues in head office & the Showrooms but also talking to the suppliers and factory on a daily basis. - Jacinta

4. Working in fashion, what’s a word that describes how you think about your own fashion and style as a woman in 2021?

Comfort over style. - Jacinta

Simplicity - when it comes to fashion I seem to gravitate towards simple, clean lines, something that tailored clothes do so well. I love that in 2021 mass produced is on the way out and there is a nod back to custom curated products made with a purpose. - Maddy

I would choose the word versatile. My style is something that I can wear casually to park dates with my daughter but easily dress it up for date night with the hubby. - Ashlee

5. On International Women’s Day 2021, do you think there have been changes or developments since 2020? Have they been positive, negative, or both?

I think the groundswell that has been building momentum over the past couple of years has continued to grow in 2020 and into 2021. Ever since the 'Me Too' movement we are seeing more opportunities for women and women's voices are being amplified across a huge number of industries. We still have a long way to go, especially in developing areas of the world but I’m confident we can get there! - Claire

Definitely positive in my opinion, but we can still grow and do better. I believe women today should be more positive and support each other, rather than criticize and put other people down. - Sedina

In Australia, we are more privileged than so many other countries but we still have the ability to create more safe spaces and environments and put pressure on the government to ensure this support is available in all industries for every person, no matter their race, sexuality or gender. There’s always more to do in my opinion! - Tayler
